Cute little Eliam is a lucky little guy to be surrounded by so much love from his family. They drove from Loma Linda to have a special photoshoot with both sides of the family, including grandparents. At just three weeks old, Eliam was alert and expressive, making for an extra fun newborn photoshoot.

After moving to California a couple of years ago, starting from scratch with everything was daunting. One of the many professionals I had to find was a new hairstylist. Fortunately, I found Carmelita, who is not only super talented but always fun to chat with too. I was so excited when she asked me to photograph her sweet new baby boy, Marciano. He is a total dream baby! I’m so glad they made the drive from Escondido to my home studio in Menifee for his photos.
As a newborn photographer, there is no greater honor than being entrusted with capturing a family’s newest addition. My goal is to create images that capture the essence of this special time in a family’s life. Every family is so special and I’m so glad I got to work this new little family!
I’m often asked when is the best time for newborn photos, and honestly it depends! Generally, between 5-10 days old is ideal, but every baby is so different. Babies under 2 weeks old tend to be extra sleepy and their skin is still pretty clear (not flaky or breaking out, as sometimes happens with new babies–especially around 2 weeks old). Preemies are often the exception to the rule, as they tend to stay sleepy until around the time they would have been full term so preemie newborn photos work well beyond the two week recommendation.
Cutie little Finn was born a month early, and his session ended up being right around the time he was due. We were originally scheduled a week prior, but unfortunately I became ill and had to reschedule his session. He had become more alert by the time of his photos, but I found he loved being on his tummy and that helped to get some sweet shots of him! He is so adorable and I loved meeting him and his parents.
What a fitting name for such a perfect little princess! Leia was a dream to photograph, both awake and asleep. At just over a week old, she kept staring straight at my camera when she was awake, but also slept for some of the sweetest sleepy shots. I also got to photograph her big sister and brother, and the three of them were so adorable together!
You’d never know from Leia’s sweet stare that newborns can actually only see clearly from about 8-15 inches away. They also are only awake for about 3 minutes per hour, on average. What an impressive little one! (Info cited from https://www.motherandbaby.co.uk/baby/baby-care/newborn-facts-trivia/)
My newborn sessions include the option to include parents, siblings, and/or family shots. I highly recommend including these shots for a variety of reasons, not the least of which include: showing off how tiny your newborn is in comparison to parents/siblings. And of course, showing the precious new relationships forming with your new baby!

Hi there! Although I’m new to Menifee, I’m definitely NOT new to newborn or baby photography! I’ve photographed hundreds of sweet babies over the past decade. It’s crazy to think how grown so many of those little ones are now (definitely not so little any more!).
I grew up mostly in Northern Utah near Salt Lake City, but I lived in Southern Utah in a beautiful town called St George for the last 12 years with my hubby and 3 kids. Moving has been a big adjustment, but I’m so excited to be here and can’t wait to meet new clients here in Southern California. I lived in California a long time ago when I was little, but my husband was born in Calabasas and grew up in SoCal. An opportunity opened up for us to move here, and we decided to take the leap. It felt like forever waiting for our new house to be built, and now that my studio is up and running all I want to do is fill it with new clients!
