Sitter sessions are some of my absolute FAVORITE sessions to photograph! “Sitter Sessions” are for 6-9 month old babies, and as the name implies, they are ideal when babies have learned to sit up. Sitting up allows for a much wider variety of photos, but I love getting all kinds of shots during sitter sessions — macro shots (closeups of baby’s hands, feet, etc), smiles and portraits, laying on their back and playing with their toes (I LOVE when babies play with their feet!), and more. Right around when baby has become stable in sitting up is perfect, because they can’t crawl away yet. But crawling photos are always fun too!
I have lots of props and a variety of stuff in my studio to customize each baby’s session. First and foremost though, I always focus on BABY. They are the star of the show. Besides the fact that babies in this age range can sit up, they are also so HAPPY at this stage. I love capturing their adorable smiles. Clients often ask me what they should bring. I’ve got you covered, but I always welcome clients to bring anything special they would like to incorporate into their session. A favorite book, blanket, or toy makes for extra special photos.
In my Baby Milestones package, the sitter session is just as fun (and important, in my opinion) as the newborn and one year session! In an effort to catch up, I’m combining a few sitter sessions that I’ve been wanting to post. Oh, these little ones are so cute and oh so full of personality!
