This festive July first birthday photoshoot was the perfect mix of summer sunshine, personality, and sweet celebration. Turning one is such a big milestone, and this little girl brought all the fun with her adorable expressions and smiles. I kept the setup simple and with subtle 4th of July details so her personality could shine through in every photo, and her mama brought some cute festive outfits. First birthday sessions are such a special way to freeze this fleeting stage of babyhood, when babies are learning to stand and those exciting first steps.

Summer of 2026 Update: Now She's Turning Two!
I wanted to pop in with some updated photos now that this adorable little firecracker has returned for her 2nd birthday photoshoot. She has grown so much, and I love those toddler curls! It feels like just yesterday she was celebrating her first birthday. I especially loved that her mama and grandma joined in for a few three-generation portraits—those photos are so extra special.
There were a few tears along the way, but it's her party and she can cry if she wants to. Second birthday photoshoots are always so uniquely fun because this age is packed with personality. Happy almost-birthday, cute girl!
