I had the chance to meet this adorable little guy last year for his newborn photoshoot, and somehow he has gotten even cuter since then! This handsome baby boy's sweet personality and cute-as-can-be smile stole the show. His Bob Marley inspired “One and Loved” theme for his first birthday session was one of my favorite 1st birthday themes ever. As a Lake Elsinore cake smash photographer, one of the best parts of my job is getting to see how much a baby has grown in their first year.
Celebrating a First Birthday with a Cake Smash
For one-year sessions, I like to begin with classic portraits before introducing props. This gives me the opportunity to capture sweet smiles and curious expressions before the cake smash fun begins.
Then comes the yummy part — the cake! Cake smash sessions are all about letting babies celebrate turning one in the messiest and cutest way possible. This cutie had so much fun tasting the cake and letting us know how much he enjoyed it with big smiles.

Since cake smashes can get messy, many parents choose to end the session with baby tub photos — and babies absolutely love it. These are often some of the happiest moments of the entire session because little ones get to splash and play. Bath time photos are one of my favorite ways to wrap up a session because they create natural, joyful moments that parents and babies love.
