A Year in Photos: Baby Boy's Newborn to First Birthday

Today I’m throwing it back to this handsome baby boy’s newborn, 6 month, and 1st birthday milestone sessions as an example of what it looks like to document a baby’s first year. It’s always such a treat to follow a baby through their first year and capture how much they change in such a short time. From those extra sweet, sleepy newborn days, to sitting up and showing so much personality at six months, all the way to celebrating a first birthday, each phase is completely unique.


Newborn Session

For his newborn session, I captured a mix of soft, sleepy portraits as well as family images with his parents and big brother. Both boys were absolutely adorable and already showing such a sweet bond. Baby brother was born in December, so I incorporated some Christmas themed shots, along with some timeless and simple props.

6 Month Session

At six months, he was full of personality and smiles. He was also learning to sit up, which I always use to my advantage to show off those new skills.

1st Birthday Session

For his first birthday, we celebrated with a fun session alongside his big brother. By this stage, he was pulling himself up to stand and giving the cutest cheesy smiles. I hope he had a very happy first birthday, and I certainly enjoyed getting to be a part of it!
