Recently, I got to photograph this handsome baby boy for his first birthday session, and it was the perfect blend of family connection, personality, and real-life moments—including a little bit of tears from the sweet birthday boy.
As a Temescal Valley baby photographer, sessions like this are a beautiful reminder that milestone photography isn’t just about perfectly posed images—it’s about telling the story of your baby exactly as they are in this season.
I started the session with photos of him with his mom and big sister. Motherhood photos are some of my favorites, so it was sweet to capture some photos of his mom holding her baby close. Big sister joined in to snuggle him, with the kind of natural bond that grows even stronger as siblings do life together.
Cake Smash Smiles (and a Few Tears)
This session ended with a simple cake smash for the dapper little guy, but he had a few tears first. Little one's emotions can change quickly, and I'm here for it to snap away and capture it all. The real, unscripted reactions often become some of the most memorable images from the entire session. As the song goes, “it’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to.” And this sweet boy made the moment his own in the most genuine way.
